Cassia sieberiana is one of the plants most used by mothers as soon as their children feel a little tired. The leaves and roots are used in maceration as a depurative, febrifuge, diuretic, and anti-anemic. The roots are aphrodisiacs in decoction or maceration. But the herbal tea is bitter.
PLANT DESCRIPTION
A small tree 10 meters high. Pinnately compound leaves. The flowers are yellow in hanging clusters. The tree blooms in the dry season. The fruits are cylindrical pods 60 cm long which stay on the tree for a very long time. It is mainly found in northern RCI and Mali.
JOBS
Depurative
Macerate 100 grams of roots scraped from their bark in a liter of water for 24 hours. Have a drink in the evening after the meal.
NB: The root is diuretic, tonic, and aphrodisiac but very bitter. The leaves make hair grow. Experienced and confirmed remedy. I use the leaves to make a hair growth pomade that is popular with women.
