Three main traditional indications exist for this plant: anti dysenteric, diuretic, and febrifuge. The bark of the trunk and the roots are used in the form of decocted or macerated in intestinal parasitosis, ascites, and sterility.
Description
It is a tree that in the Sahel does not exceed 4 meters in height but can reach 15 meters in the Guinean region. The leaves are oval. The flowers occur in axillary racemes bearing numerous fragrant white flowers. The fruits are pendulous linear follicles, grouped in pairs, up to 45 cm long.
Direction of use
--Amoebic dysentery Make a decoction of 35 g of the trunk bark in a liter of water. It is necessary to drink 250 ml morning and evening of this decoction for a week to make the amoeba disappear.
--Trichomonas and vaginitis To get rid of trichomonads, the same decoction of trunk bark must be used internally and externally.
Note: Drink moderately because of the side effects: nausea, dizziness, insomnia, anxiety, etc.
